APDEM Update — May, 2017

Survey: All In Match Policy

For approximately two years, members of Council for the Association of Program Directors in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism (APDEM) have been exploring the desirability of an All In Match policy for Internal Medicine Endocrinology Fellowship Programs.  If adopted, an All In Match policy would hold that all endocrinology positions must be allocated through the NRMP Match, although certain exceptions to the All In Match Policy will be granted.

We encourage all Program Directors to participate in this formal decision-making process by participating in our match policy survey.  This survey will close on June 2, 2017.  If at least two-thirds of respondents register a preference for an All In Match policy, APDEM Council will implement the policy as described for the 2018 recruitment season (the current policy will remain in effect for the 2017 season). If less than two-thirds of respondents are in favor, Council will reevaluate possible next steps in light of the survey results.
